Title: Antique San Roque, St. Roch Religious Santo, Folk Religious Carving
Description: Probably one of the most important saints in the Philippines. Due to his popularity, numerous places and roads have been named after him. His wound on his left leg has also become iconic and became a symbol of hope and healing. This wooden saint represents a classic example of carving prevalent in the Philippines around the late nineteenth century. About three tints of paint were used to enhance the piece but these have faded over time. Some cracks, specifically on the right hand, and abrasions can be seen throughout.
Measurement: It measures 17.8 inches in height (including the base) and 5.4 inches across.
Condition: In Good Condition
Weight: approximately 1,500 grams
