Description: The devotion of the Filipinos has long been known to revolve around santos. These santos, the majority of which are made of wood, were a crucial instruments introduced
during the Spanish period to aid in the evangelization of the Philippines. This particular carving is of an unidentified female saint (possibly that of Sta. Barbara of the Virgin). A truly old piece as evident in her patina. She is done in the popular folk style, which is to say that she was carved by unschooled hands and thus has a certain
native flair. An overall excellent religious carving believed to be over one hundred years old.
Measurement: It measures 10.5 inches in height and 4.5 inches across.
Condition: In Good Condition
