Description: The Santero culture in the Philippines is widely prevalent among Filipino Catholics, having been influenced by colonial Spain and various forms of folk Catholicism. Icons and other religious images were crucial for the conversions of indigenous peoples to the Roman Catholic Church. This tradition has remained strong in the Philippines and as such many wonderful examples can be found today.
This lovely piece is a portrayal of the beloved St. Vincent of Ferrer or San Vicente as he is known locally. He is easily identifiable here due to his iconic pose and tin wings.
Measurement: It measures 14.5 inches in height and 7.5 inches across.
