Title: Vintage Santo Religious Carving, San Roque, Saint Roch 16.5”
Description: This image of the patron saint of dogs is made of batikulling, a Philippine indigenous tree. Traditionally the wound is located in the left knee and was cured through licking by a hunting dog of a Count. The wooden statue is late baroque inspired and further enhanced by the tints used. The right hand had a staff but missing, the left hand holds the pleated part of the bodice to show the wounded part of the knee. It is believed to be more than forty years old and probably come from Bulacan province.
Measurement: It measures 16.5 inches in height and 5.5 inches across.
Condition: In Good Condition
Weight: approximately 1,400 grams
