Description: Santo Nino de Pandacan - This iconic image is quite popular all over the Philippines. While the olden statue in Cebu predates the other images, the one in Tondo and Pandacan, both part of the City of Manila, contribute a lot to the chronology of historic events that eventually led to its widespread devotion, as being miraculous and gives mercy for those who succor for help. Made from batikuling, an indigenous wood from the Philippines. The head wears a hand painted crown, the right hand holds an orb, while the left is raise, bestowing benediction. This image can don vestments embellished with appliqués and florid embroideries. The pedestal looks garish, with floral designs. Some abrasions, cracks and discoloration are visible due to age. It is believed to be more than a hundred years old and probably come from Manila.
Measurement: It measures 16 inches in height and 4 inches across.
