Title: Antique Saint Pancratius, Religious Wood Carving Santo
Description: Saint Pancratius - A Roman citizen who was converted into Christianity, and was beheaded for his faith at the age of just fourteen around the year 304. He is the patron of children and false witnesses. He is always depicted as a young man and a soldier. The image is made of batikuling, a wood indigenous to the Philippines. The image is well proportioned, from the head, face, and the pleated garments. The saint holds a book on his left hand, while the right hand must had been holding a staff, now lost. The olden patina gives a dramatic effect, likewise the discoloration. It has minor cracks and abrasions due to age. It is believed to be more than ninety years old and probably come from Southern Philippines.
Measurement: It measures 14 inches in height and 5.5 inches across.
Condition: In Good Condition
Weight: Item weighs approximately 1,400 grams
