Description: San Vicente Ferrer - This saint was a Valencian Dominican friar, who gained acclaim as a missionary and logician. He is patron saint of builders and construction workers and fishermen. This wooden image was made from batikuling, indigenous to the Philippines. The arms and shoulders are adjustable to a certain degree, depending on the preference. The right hand traditionally holds a bible, while the left holds a tongue of flame. The wings made from tin are missing, yet it still evokes tranquility and piousness. There is a minor crack on the right side of the head down to the chin. The image can don vestments incorporated with appliqué and embroideries. Some minor cracks and discoloration are visible due to age. It is believed to be more than a hundred years old and probably come from Northern Philippines. National Museum Philippines Stamp - 0098793
Measurement: It measures 15.5 inches in height (including the base) and 4 inches across.
