Amor Lamorroza

was born in Ambalayat, Tagudin, Ilocos 1946. (Neopop art) Art studies, PWU. Suffered from childhood an imbalance response to color; weak in red and green but intensely sensitive to yellow and blue. Entered UST in 1963, where he got an scolding from Prof Diosdado Lorenzo for rendering a nude in blue. Transferred to PWU in 1967.While still a student, mounted three-man show with Raul Lebajo and Raul Isidro, 1968. Chosen to represent the country at the Tokyo Biennial, 1969;also the Baghdad Intl Festival of Arts Iraq, 1986. In 1970 won the prestigious grand prize at ITT’s First Worldwide Corporate Advtg Campaign competition in NY, where the works of winners were later exhibited at Miami Art Center,Florida. Presented first on-man show,Solidaridad Gallery, 1971. Held 15th solo at the SM Art Center, which included whote-on-white pieces made of Pinatubo ashfall and lahar washout, 1993.
