was born in Caramoan, Camarines Sur, 1938. ( Monuments and abstract figurative sculpture in aluminum, bronze, jade, wood, and glass ) BFA, sculpture, UP 1960. Advanced studies in sculpture, Univ of Hawaii, 1975. French govt scholarship grantee, Ecole de Beaux Arts, Paris 1980. First one-man show Mla Hilton, 1971. Taught at UE, and was a board member of the Society of Phil Sculptors. Also worked as art director for a number of printing companies. [CENT-MD] *** Primarily known for figurative abstraction in bronze and glass. Sometimes adds other materials for contrast to enhance his themes . His forms are schematized in to the essence of the subject, mainly along geometric simplification. His elegant lines infuse dignity to his human figures, and compensate for their characteristic lack of facial features. Represented the Phil at the Intl Art exhibit in Osaka, Japan, 1967 and the Paris-Sud Biennale, 1973. Won the grand slam of 1st prize, gold medal, and grand prize, sculpture category, AAP Annual of 1978. [CCP Vol IV-SP]
